Allan Nielsen

Allan Nielsen ( born March 13, 1971 in Esbjerg ) is a former Danish football player and coach.

Career as a player

Clubs

After Nielsen a youth club in Esbjerg learned to play football at Sædding - Guldager Idrætsforening, ( s ) he moved in 1989 to the second division side Esbjerg fB. For the club, he did not even use, as he was obliged immediately after changing clubs from Bundesliga side FC Bayern Munich. In two seasons Nielsen, however, was used only once. For the 1991/92 season he initially signed a three year contract with the Swiss first division club FC Sion, but returned after only a month to Denmark. For Odense BK he played in two seasons, 55 first and second division matches and scored nine goals. The following season he moved to league rivals FC Copenhagen, with whom he won two more titles as team captain in 1995. After just one season he moved to league rivals Brøndby IF, with whom he he was named Footballer of the Year in 1996 and Danish Champion.

In 1996, he ventured to move to England for the first division Tottenham Hotspur, for whom he had completed 97 Premier League games in four years. Even with this club he won a title.
