Allan Quatermain

Allan Quatermain is a fictional character by the English writer Henry Rider Haggard.

Character

Quatermain is described as an English adventurer who witnessed with his companions, Sir Henry Curtis, Sir John Good and the Africans Umslopogaas exciting adventure in the "dark" continent. Films

The book King Solomon's treasure chamber has been filmed several times. 1937, a film starring Sir Cedric Hardwicke as Allan Quatermain director Robert Stevenson (King Solomon's Mines ). A colorful version with Stewart Granger as Quatermain was King Solomon's Mines (King Solomon's Mines, 1950), directed by J. Compton Bennett and Andrew Marton V.. Another version is Quatermain - In search of the treasure of kings (1985 ) with Richard Chamberlain as Allan Quatermain and Sharon Stone as his mistress. There was also a continuation Quatermain II - In Search of the Lost City of Gold (1987 ) and a film about the adventures of youth Quatermain. 2004, there was a further adaptation of King Solomon 's Mines starring Patrick Swayze in the lead role. In the movie The Quest - The Secret of the King's Chamber from the year 2006, the story is told as one of the adventures of the librarian.

Allan Quatermain has a major role as an aged adventurer in the comic book series The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. In the film adaptation of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, he was played by Sean Connery.
