Allan Starski

Allan Starski ( born January 1, 1943 in Warsaw) is a Polish Designer.

Life and career

Allan Starski is the son of screenwriter and grew up near the film studios Łódź. So he came as a child with the film world in touch. He then studied art in Warsaw.

With director Andrzej Wajda in 1976, he realized the first film together, the shadow line. Since then he has Designer for many of Wajda's films.

Starski is one of the most internationally acclaimed production designer for the film industry. Among the most famous appointed by him in addition to numerous film credits include Polish films also interna national productions such as Schindler's List and The Pianist. For Schindler's List he received both an Academy Award (1994 ) and the LAFCA for Best Production Design (1993). For the French film The Pianist price César for Best Production Design ( 2003).
