The Allegheny National Forest is a protected forest in northwestern Pennsylvania, United States. It extends over 65 km and is located in a total of four counties. In Allegheny National Forest were created over 360 km of hiking trails, 320 km snowmobile route and 120 km of cycle paths.

The Allegheny National Forest with its numerous rivers and streams is a common destination of anglers and boaters. In particular, the Kinzua Lake, a reservoir is heavily traveled by boats.

Middle of the woods are the remains of the 625 -meter-long Kinzua Bridge over the Kinzua Creek. At its completion in 1882, the partial 100 -meter-high bridge was the " highest and longest railroad viaduct in the world " and was already a tourist attraction. While previously led the main transport route from wood, coal and oil to Pittsburgh over the iron bridge, it is economically meaningless today. Since 2002, the bridge is closed for pedestrians. In 2003, she was partially destroyed by a tornado. The newly constructed viewing platforms offer a view over Lake Kinzua.
