Allen Carr
Allen Carr ( born September 2, 1934 in London, † November 29, 2006 in Málaga ) was a British writer and author of books about life coaching. Carr wrote counselor and held it affiliated self-help courses and seminars. Carr's methods and theories to overcome addiction are partly controversial.
His first and most successful work at the same time, the book is finally Non smoking! ( Original title: Easy way to stop smoking ). In this book, the former chain smoker before developed through their own experiences methods Easy Way, with the long standing smoking can stop in the shortest possible time with smoking should. The Carr'sche method differs from other cessation methods among other things, that during weaning by reading the book or by attending a seminar organized by the Carr- smokers to continue smoking first. Only after the end of the reading or at the end of the seminar occurs because the smoker " as saying " no more cigarette more, because the " positive brainwashing " ( Carr in his book ), so the mental relief from emotional and psychological associations with the smoking, then already at work. Carr's method is applicable according to his statements for any addiction. (P. 606).
End of July 2006 was found during a routine examination that Allen Carr had lung cancer. According to its own statements, he himself had not smoked for over 23 years. As known among experts, it will take years to decades until the cancer risk after cessation of smoking substantially reduced.
" If that was the price I must pay to have helped so many smokers, " he said, " then I will pay it gladly. I 'm sure I would have died 20 years ago, if I had not spent the last 23 years as a Non smoking. I guess those years as a most valuable of my life. "
On 29 November 2006 Carr died at the age of 72 years from the effects of lung cancer.
