Allen Curnow

Allen Curnow ( born June 17, 1911 in Timaru, New Zealand, † 23 September 2001) was a New Zealand writer and journalist who came to international fame through his poetry above all. He was awarded, among others, with the major prizes Commonwealth Poetry Prize (1988) and Queen's Gold Medal for Poetry (1989).
