Alles, was von Gott geboren, BWV 80a

Everything born of God ( BWV 80a ) is a church cantata by Johann Sebastian Bach. He composed it in 1715 or 1716 in Weimar on Sunday oculi, the third Sunday of Lent. The music has been lost, but Bach used four sets for his later Choral Cantata for the Reformation, A Mighty Fortress is Our God, BWV 80

History and words

Bach composed the cantata in Weimar on Sunday oculi. Their music is lost. The prescribed readings for the Sunday were Eph 5:1-9 LUT, " exhortation to purity of life ," and Luke 11.14-28 LUT, "He casts out demons by Beelzebub ." The cantata text by Salomon Franck was published in " Protestant devotional Opffer " 1715. The text of the first sentence converts 1 Jn 5.4 LUT from, " For whatever is born of God overcomes the world." The final chorale is the second verse of Martin Luther's hymn A Mighty Fortress is our God.

As suspected date of the first performance of Alfred Dürr beat the March 24, 1715 before, Klaus Hofmann, however, 15 March 1716.

In Leipzig Bach could not perform at the scheduled occasion, the music, as was observed during Lent tempus clausum. He expanded in 1730 to his chorale cantata for Reformation Day A Mighty Fortress is Our God, BWV 80 For the first two sets, aria and recitative, he developed the sentences 2 and 3 of the later work, from Theorems 4 and 5, recitative and aria, which sets 6 and 7

Construction

Music

Although the music is lost, 80 can be closed to them from BWV. The first aria presumably contained an instrumental cantus firmus melody of the song A Mighty Fortress is Our God is sung by the soprano in BWV 80 on the text of the second stanza. Both recitative secco begin and end as arioso. The first thus lifts the text " that spirit of Christ with you to connect securely " shows, the second " your Savior is your refuge ." The final chorale is a simple four-part set.

2010, the premiere of a reconstruction of the Bach Collegium Zurich, developed in collaboration with the Bach - Archiv Leipzig instead. It sang Marni Schwonberg, Ulrike Andersen, Bernhard Hunziker, Dominik Wörner headed Hunziker.
