Alliance in the Alps has been founded in 1997 merger of municipalities and regions from seven countries of the Alpine region. The members of this community network have a way of working with citizens to develop the alpine habitat for the future. Members

Alliance in the Alps currently has about 300 member congregations from France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein and Slovenia. Member can only be who agrees with the principles of the Convention.

Activity

The municipality Network Alliance in the Alps continued by several programs:

The currently active program " dynAlp-climate " deals by seeking projects that contribute to the reduction of anthropogenic climate change or to adapt to and take into account the ecology, society and business alike with the current climate change. The municipalities are this thanks to the financial support from the MAVA Foundation for Nature grants totaling 300,000 euros.

With 1,775,000 euro, 36 projects under the name " DYNALP ² " were supported from 2006 to 2009, which made ​​a concrete contribution to the implementation of sustainable development and the Alpine Convention. Besides supporting projects in the communities and their networking was part of the promotion. These included joint events such as workshops, field trips and international conferences.

From 2003 to 2006 held the community network with " DYNALP " his first major international project. , With a budget of 2,160,000 EUR 52 communities were supported in the area of ​​tourism, nature conservation and countryside, mountain farming, and sustainable development and spatial planning projects in accordance with the wanted to carry the Alpine Convention.

In the years 2001-2005 Alliance wrote in the Alps every year the competition "Community of the Future", were awarded in the sustainability projects in alpine communities.

Cooperations

In 2003 was in the Tajik capital Dushanbe, the " Central Asian Mountain Alliance" founded on the model of community network. In this Central Asian community network it goes like its sister organization in the Alps of sustainable development in mountain communities and the exchange of experiences between the communities. With mutual visits, field trips and exchange of information experiences will be disseminated through projects.
