Allied Air

Allied Air is a Nigerian cargo airline based in Lagos and based on the Lagos airport.

History

The airline was established in Nigeria in 1998. To increase the security and quality of service, the Nigerian government by all the domestic airlines demanded under threat of withdrawing the launch rights, a capital increase of 30 April 2007; Allied Air was able to meet this deadline and continue the flight operation.

Objectives

Allied Air operates exclusively through cargo flights, regularly flown destinations here are for example Accra, Freetown, Monrovia, Entebbe and Malabo.

Fleet

As of October 2013, the fleet of the Allied Air consists of 8 planes, of which 3 are shut down:

  • 3 Boeing 727- 200F (1 decommissioned; 1 operated for DHL Aviation )
  • 1 Boeing 737- 400F
  • 2 Boeing 737-400 ( Both Decommissioned )
  • 3 McDonnell Douglas MD -11F ( operated by World Airways )

Incidents

  • On June 2, 2012, a Boeing 727- 200F of the Allied Air shot out at the airport Accra over the runway and collided with a crowded minibus. Here, twelve people were killed, the four-member crew survived the accident.
