Allied Waste Industries was a company in the field of waste management. It operated recycling and waste incinerators and landfills in the United States. The company included, among other things, 169 landfills and 53 recycling facilities in 37 states in the United States and in Puerto Rico.
According to the U.S. company Waste Management Allied Waste Industries was the second largest purely specializing in waste management private companies in the United States. In June 2008 it was announced that Allied Waste Industries is taken over by the U.S. competitor Republic Services.
