Alligator Sky

Alligator Sky is a song by American pop band Owl City. From the song, there are four versions, one with BoB, one with Shawn Chrystopher, one with and one without Big Boi rap. The song was first released on 18 March 2011 and is the first released single from Owl City's album All Things Bright and Beautiful. The song was remixed, among others, Long Lost Sun.

Background

Young told AOL that he was a big fan of hip-hop and its constituents and that he had been experimenting with different sounds. He had wanted to unite in song hip- hop with a strong bass and a catchy melody to make the title of the last publication Owl City's independent and appear different.

Music Video

In the official music video, which was first released on YouTube on 29 April 2012 and applies to the version with Chrystopher, one sees mainly Shawn Chrystopher in a space suit running through an empty, dilapidated city. Even Adam Young of Owl City, as well as in the space suit, plays a role. Steve Hoover was the video director, Brandon Bonfiglio and Danny yourd produced it.

The single was not very successful, as it reached only the German airplay charts ( number 68 ), the German Youth airplay chart (No. 17) and the Danish airplay charts where space elf was reached.

Criticism

The song got different criticism. So says Ulf Kubanke of laut.de that Alligator Sky would like " Gebrauchspop listeners in front of the car radio ," Scott Fryberger of jesusfreakhideout.com stated that it would sound very much like Fireflies and he liked it, but he would find it be great.
