Allineuc

Allineuc ( Breton: Alineg ) is a commune with 577 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Côtes- d'Armor in the Brittany region.

Etymology

Allineuc, or the Breton Alineg derived from the expression al Linec, with this on le lin, the French name for flax, refers.

Geography

Allineuc located in an agricultural region on the stream Ruisseau Le Mézel. About 500 people live in this village, which is slightly more than 200 m above sea level. From Saint- Brieuc, the capital of the department, and therefore also from the sea Allineuc is about 25 km as the crow flies. Up to Paris there are (again the crow flies) about 385 km.

Southern neighboring community is Uzel, capital of the canton of the same name. Further west is bordered Allineuc to Merléac and north-west of Le Bodeo. L' Hermitage - Lorge is located northeast of Allineuc.

Demographics

Since the beginning of population records, the community experienced a continuous decline in population. During 1793 nor 2713 residents were counted, it was at the beginning of the 20th century 1321. Too, since the end of World War 2, the population loss continued.

Unemployment was only 2.6% in 2006. Almost 75 % of the inhabitants are employed and the rest will be composed of about 9 % pensioners and persons undergoing training.

Attractions

Area attractions include the church Église Saint- Pierre et Sainte -Anne and the chapels chapelle Saint -Adrien, chapelle de la Porte d' Ovain ou Dohen, chapelle Sainte -Anne de Langavry and chapelle Notre- Dame de Bon Secours de - Kergonan.
