Allmendhubelbahn

The funicular Mürren- Allmendhubel (SMA ), also called Allmendhubelbahn, is a funicular railway in the Bernese Oberland ( Switzerland ). It belongs to the Schilthorn Cableway AG ( LSMS ).

The Allmendhubelbahn was opened in 1912, at first only in the winter. It runs from Mürren ( 1650 m above sea level. M. ) with a maximum gradient of 61% up to Allmendhubel 1907 m. The old red cars were replaced by new panorama cars in 1999.
