Alma Richards

Alma Wilford Richards ( born February 20, 1890 in Parowan, Utah, † April 3, 1963 in Long Beach, California ) was an American track and field athlete.

He won at the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912 with 1.93 meters gold medal in the high jump at the German Hans Lie (1.91 meters ) and the reigning world champion George Horine (1.89 meters), only weeks before the Olympic Games with a new style that has become known as Western scooter in the sports history, had skipped the first man to the height of two meters. Richards was the first citizen of the State of Utah, the Olympic champion.
