Almagro, Ciudad Real

Almagro, the ancient capital of Campo de Calatrava, a comarca is something halfway between Madrid and Cordoba, 25 km south-east eastern Ciudad Real's. It belongs to the Spanish province of Ciudad Real in the autonomous community of Castile -La Mancha.

Almagro is on the Autovia del IV Centenario.

The old town of Almagro was classified in 1972 as Conjunto histórico - artístico.

Military airfield

Just outside the town in the northern part Caserio El Campazo is a small military airfield of the Spanish Army ( Fuerzas Aero Móviles del Ejército de Tierra ( FAMET ), the base Almagro. Almagro is home place of the Spanish Tiger combat helicopters of Batallón de Helicópteros de Ataque núm. I ( Bhela I).
