Almas (cryptozoology)

The Alma or Alma ( Mongolian: Wild Man ) is a mythical creature said to live in the Altai, Tianshan, and especially in the Caucasus allegedly.

The creature is also known as Almasty, Tungu, Abnauayu and Tschutschunaa.

Description

This ape-man to reach a size of up to two meters. Your body is covered with fur, whose hue is ranging from red-brown to reddish- black. Her long arms and the flat end are described as striking. In addition, they should have a conical or peg-shaped head. You should run hunched over on two legs, but can also be very fast.

Alma described in traditions as very shy and mostly nocturnal. These properties and their speed should be the reason for the rarity of sightings together with the nomadic life of beings.

Sightings in the Caucasus

Reports of Almas exist in many local legends of the Caucasus, many are partly hundreds of years old. Caused a stir a report by the Soviet scientist Boris Porschnew who wants to have collected some amazing reports of a female Almas called " Sana " firsthand. Sana said to have been imprisoned for years in a Caucasian village and have four children born there. In the 1880s, she had died. Sana said to have had conspicuously protruding cheekbones, a gray- black skin and reddish hair. Also, they should have never learned to speak. Amazingly, distinguished their children, they should have had with different men of the village, not particularly from other children, with the exception of strong physique and a darker skin color. Porschnew wants to have spoken directly even with two grandchildren Sana. The skull of one of their offspring was investigated by Russian scientists who claim to have discovered it typical characteristics of primitive man. 1991 claimed the Russian scientists Gregori Patschenkow, he was able to observe for six minutes in the Caucasus an Alma. Patschenkow described the beings as not clearly ape-like, but not human. It is said to have possessed similarity with a prehistoric man.

Research

One of the first reports of Almas, which arrived in the West dates back to the 1420s. A certain Hans Berger Schildt has been reported in those years during a Mongolia trip of a being that was not like any of the hitherto known human-like apes. Locals described the creature as a " wild man ".

Since that time, cryptozoologists have made many expeditions in which allegedly footprints, hair tufts and hidden food supplies were assured that should come from Alma. They were carried out by the Soviet people snow Commission founded in 1954, which was launched to investigate the numerous reports of ape-men. A started yet in the founding year of the Commission expedition that was equipped with Tarnzelten, telephoto lenses, extra trained apes dogs and sheep and goats as bait, was unsuccessful. The Commission was indeed disbanded shortly thereafter, the participating researchers are continuing their work, however, continues to this day.

Some cryptozoologists believe Almas are descendants of prehistoric man. So put the British professor Myra Shackley, who studied until the end of the 1980s in this field, the theory, at Almas it were surviving Neanderthals. Others consider it Homo erectus.
