Almdudler

Almdudler is now an Austrian soft drink with herbal extracts, earlier, however, a mixed drink of wine and lemonade was with this term.

History

As Almdudler was formerly a mixture of wine and " Kracherl " ( lemonade ). In 1957, the Vienna soda water and lemonade manufacturer Erwin Klein had the idea of ​​a special lemonade for the preparation of Almdudler. This drink was then called " Almdudler lemonade " and it was pointed out on the 0.35 - liter bottle that you may mix this content with 1/8 liters of wine to produce Almdudler. It was also the time indicated in the Advertisement on the particularly good mixing capability with wine.

Because of this origin of the name is largely unknown today, was through marketing from the original term for an alcoholic mixed drink, the brand name for a non-alcoholic lemonade. This is now produced by Almdudler lemonade, A. & S. Klein GmbH & Co KG. Since 1994, the headquarters in Vienna will award the first time licenses for the production abroad. Almdudler was sold exclusively in the original bottle shape with the " Almdudler Trachtenpärchen ", originally only in one size. Almdudler is drunk both pure ( red label ) and mixed with various other beverages:

  • Mixtures with red or white wine called Almdudler red or Almdudler White, Sweet spritzer, sweet blend, Almspritzer, Liftler or Tyrolean.

Almdudler consists of water, sugar, natural flavors ( herbal extracts ), the acidulant citric acid, carbonic acid and the dye caramel. The calorific value of 100 ml Almdudler is 149 kJ or 35 kcal.
