The Almelo railway station is the largest railway station in the Dutch city of Almelo. The station is used by approximately 10,000 people a day ( 2009). He is a central hub in urban public transport. At the station, at national regional and long-distance trains as well as the cross-border Intercity from Amsterdam to Berlin.
History
The station was opened on 18 October 1865, the railway line Almelo salt mountains. The connection to Zwolle followed 1881. 1893 got a new station building of the railway station. The railway line to Mariënberg was added in 1906. Its present appearance after a design by Koen van der Gaast got the station in 1962.
