The Almere Centrum Station is the largest train station in the Dutch city of Almere and the busiest station in the province of Flevoland. He is a central hub in urban public transport. At the station, at national regional and long-distance trains.

History

The station was opened on 30 May 1987 with the railway line Weesp - Lelystad. It was the first station in Almere. Until 1999 the station was called Almere Centraal ( Almere CS). Since the title Centraal entitled only stations with a much higher passenger volume, the name was changed to the center, because the also corresponded to the location of the station in Almere. In addition to Almere Centrum station there are five other stations in Almere. However, Almere Centrum is the largest of all stations.
