Almirall S. A. is a research-based, publicly traded pharmaceutical company headquartered in Barcelona, Spain. The product portfolio of the company founded in 1943 focused on drugs for the treatment of diseases of the respiratory tract, the gastrointestinal tract and the skin as well as autoimmune diseases. Almirall has a direct presence in 12 countries and marketed in 70 countries.

With the acquisition of the resident in Reinbek company Hermal in 2007 Almirall acquired its established dermatological brands - for example Aknemycin (acne ), Balneum Hermal (dry skin ), Optiderm ( dry, itchy skin), Jacutin (lice ), Tannosynt (inflammatory skin diseases). Claims to Almirall is Germany's market leader in the field of prescription drugs for dermatology.
