Alnwick [ ænɪk ] is a city in the north of Northumberland, England with about 31,000 inhabitants. It was the seat of the former Alnwick District. The North Sea is around 7 km away to the east.

History

The city was probably built around 600 AD Its history is closely connected with that of the castle and there resided noble family House Percy. 1093 was near Alnwick between an English and Scottish army the battle of Alnwick instead.
