Alois Hadamczik

Alois Hadamczik (* June 20, 1952 in Kravaře ve Slezsku, Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech ice hockey player and current coach, and - functionary. Since November 2010 he has been head coach of the Czech national ice hockey team. His brother Evžen was a successful football coach.

Career

Alois Hadamczik was initially actively as hockey players, but was able to achieve any significant success and played for various clubs exclusively in lower leagues. In 1984 he began his career as a coach at TŽ VŘSR Třinec and took a parallel studies at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport Science of the Charles University in Prague. In Třinec he was head coach from 1984 to 1990 in the first league, the highest Czechoslovak Hockey League. From 1990 to 1992 he worked in Germany, where he coached the fourth division ERC Sonthofen and the second division EV Füssen. Then he returned to Czechoslovakia and received for the 1992/93 season a contract with HC Olomouc.

From 1993 to 1995 Hadamczik oversaw the HC Vitkovice of the newly founded after the split of Czechoslovakia Czech Extraliga. In the following five years he stood by his former club HC Železárny Třinec behind the band, with whom he reached the hitherto biggest success of his career when he was with his team in the season 1997/98 runners-up. From 2000 to 2002 he coached again the HC Vitkovice, with whom he defeated in the 2001/02 season until the playoff finals HC Sparta Prague. The capital club committed after the season Hadamczik who could, however, achieve any significant success in the following years at Sparta. 2003 and 2004, he finished with Sparta each took third place in the Extraliga.

At the Junior World Championships in 2004 and 2005 Hadamczik oversaw the Czech Under-20 national team. With this he won the 2005 bronze medal. In 2006 he took over the position as head coach of the Czech national team of Vladimír Růžička senior. First he scored with the Czechs in his first year good results. With the national team he won at the Olympic Winter Games in Turin, the bronze medal at the World Championships he and his team had to admit defeat until the final to Sweden. In the following two years, the Czech Republic different from each early at the world championships and had his coach Hadamczik Office return it to its predecessor Vladimír Růžička.

From 2008 to 2010 Hadamczik had the HC Vitkovice held a dual role as coach and manager. After a Viertelfinalaus in the first season he was again runner-up with his team in the season 2009/10. In the final, he lost his team the HC Eaton Pardubice. Following the 2010 World Cup, he again took over the position as head coach of the Czech national team of Vladimír Růžička. After the 2014 Winter Olympics, where the Czech Republic was eliminated in the quarterfinals, Hadamczik resigned from his post.
