Aloisia Kirschner

Ossip Shubin, pseudonym for Aloisia ( Lola ) Kirschner ( born June 17, 1854 in Prague, † February 10, 1934 at Castle Kosatek in Bohemia, Czechoslovakia) was a German -speaking Bohemian writer who described the preferred salon and social life of their time.

Life

Aloisia Kischner was born in 1854 as the second of three children in a Jewish family origin. She grew up on the secluded estate of their parents in Lochkow and received a thorough education. In her youth, she took with her mother and sister traveled widely, including to Munich, Paris, Brussels and Rome, where she was introduced to artists and scholars circles. Ivan Sergeyevich Turgenev you got to know George Sand and Alfred Meissner. From one of Turgenews novels, Helena, she borrowed her pseudonym Ossip Shubin. Her first novella misjudged and missed appeared in the Prague Bohemia. More releases followed in the magazines Schorers Family Group Sheet, German Rundschau and Over land and sea.

During her lifetime was Shubin, a famous writer, but after her death, her work was quickly forgotten with the rise of National Socialism.
