Alon Greenfeld

Alon Greenfeld (Hebrew אלון גרינפלד; born April 17, 1964 in New York) is an Israeli chess player.

Was Greenfeld 1983 International Master in 1989 and Grand Master. With an ELO rating of 2564, he finished in November 2010 No. 13 of the Israeli ranking. His highest Elo rating was 2610 in January 1994.

One of his greatest achievements was the second place at the European Youth Championships U20 1981/1982 behind the Danes Curt Hansen. In 1993, he won the tournament in Pardubice for themselves. In Chess Olympiads Greenfeld 1982 to 1994 was used five times as a player. At the Chess Olympiad 2010 he was captain of the Israeli team that won the bronze medal.

Greenfeld is also active as an author of the opening book for chess program Junior.
