Alon Stein

Alon Stein (Hebrew אלון שטיין; born January 4, 1978 in Hadera, Israel ) is a retired Israeli basketball player who also since 2000 has German citizenship. Stone played several seasons in the top two leagues Israel, Germany and Switzerland. Since the season 2011/12 he is as a reserve player in the squad of Israeli series champion Maccabi Tel Aviv, who has a leading role in Europe and had already been active for their youth teams stone before.

Career

Stein was in his youth a great talent and was able to achieve 60 points in a final of the Israeli Youth Championships as a 14- year-old. As a 17 -year-old, he moved from the youth teams of Maccabi Tel Aviv Hapoel Galil Elyon to the north Israeli Kfar Blum, where he was trained by a native of the U.S. coach David leaf. After two years of stagnation and changed his achievements as a coach sheet to Maccabi Tel Aviv, Stone was finally hired in the season 1999/2000 to the Israeli premiership Movers Maccabi Kiryat Motzkin from. For the season 2002 /03 stone changed despite ongoing contract with Hapoel to Germany, where he joined the then second division side ratiopharm Ulm joined. Here he was able to increase his personal achievements again and achieved good 17 points and 4 assists per game. The top-flight return of Ulm, however, was missed and stone, which again sought for higher duties, left the club. Then In the season 2003/ 04 he got a contract with the Swiss first division club Geneva Devils. For the season 2004 /05 he returned to the German second league and played this time for the polar bear from Bremerhaven in the North group. After just one season defeat one climbed to the first basketball league. After being in just 34 minutes operating time per game could well contribute 14 points and 7 assists on average in the second division, dropped his play in the first league back to 12 minutes per game. After the Movers had moved as a strong main round fourth in the season 2005/ 06 until the play-off semi-finals, where they lost to the main round first and later vice-champion Alba Berlin, Stein left the club and played in the 2006 /07 again with the Devils Geneva, Switzerland. In the following season 2007/ 08 he was still just below the future Israeli national team coach Arik Shivek active during the later masters ABC from Amsterdam in the Netherlands FEB in-progress. Here he could not sit down and returned to his home country.

Even during the 2007 /08 Hapoel stone castle from Kibbutz Be'eri on the edge of the Gaza Strip in the second Israeli Liga game. The season ended in relegation zone and the class could be held only by the withdrawal of other teams. However, Stein moved to league rivals Elitzur Yavne out for the season 2008 /09. In 2010 he returned once to Switzerland and played for the Tigers from Lugano, the Swiss champions have been this year. But a contract extension broke and without a contract, he was invited sheet for the top European team Maccabi Tel Aviv during the 2010/11 season as training players from his former coach David. For next season 2011/12 he finally even got a contract with Maccabi to be used as a reserve player in national championship games.
