Along the River During the Qingming Festival

The Qingming Scroll (traditional characters :清明上河图/ Abbreviation:清明上河图/ Pinyin: Qingming Shanghe Tú ) is the most famous image of the Chinese painter Zhang Zeduan.

The image shows the role of everyday life of the city of Kaifeng, the capital of the Northern Song Dynasty during the Chinese Qingming dead memorial day.

The role has a height of 24.8 centimeters and a length of 528.7 centimeters.

History

The special feature of the Qingming role is that it is one of the few paintings of the former imperial collection, which today are located in the People's Republic of China. Puyi appreciated this very much and took it with him when he was installed by the Japanese as Emperor of Manchukuo. Thus, it was no longer in the Forbidden City, as the Guomindang the art of the Imperial Palace led away in their flight to Taiwan.

In 1945, the Qingming role has been bought back to Beijing and has since been in the Palace Museum.
