Alonso Cueto

Alonso Cueto Caballero (born 1954 in Lima) is a Peruvian writer.

Life

Alonso Cueto studied at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú in Lima, where he graduated in 1977. After that he spent two years traveling through Europe and taught, among other things English in Madrid. Following his trip, he attended the University of Texas at Austin on a master's and doctoral studies. The title of his dissertation from 1984 was " Los cuentos de Juan Carlos Onetti ".

His first work Labatalla Del Pasado ( The battle of last year ), he published in 1983. It is a collection of short stories. His first novel was El tigre blanco ( The White Tiger ).

Alonso Cueto is a journalism professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and writes regularly for the newspaper Peru 21
