Alou Diarra (born 15 July 1981 in Villepinte, Seine- Saint- Denis, France ) is a French football player who is under contract with the English first division side West Ham United.



After the season 1999/2000 in the French second division club CS Louhans - Cuiseaux Diarra moved to Germany to Bayern Munich. For the amateur team he played in his first season in the Regionalliga Süd 28 times and scored four goals. In the 2:4 home defeat on 30 July 2000 ( Matchday 1 ) against the VfR Mannheim he came on in the 46th minute for Andrew Sinkala and scored in the 73rd minute the deficit to intermediate 1:2 also his first target.

On October 9, 2004 Diarra completed his first cap for the senior team, who split scoreless in Paris from the national team of Ireland. Diarra came on in this match for Olivier Dacourt in the 63rd minute.

His body size and clout make it a similar types of players like Patrick Vieira. For this he was also on as a substitute in his two appearances at the World Cup in 2006 - the group match against Togo and in the 56th minute of the final against Italy.
