Alpharetrovirus

The alpha retroviruses are a genus within the family of retroviruses. They belong to the simple retroviruses. Many species of alpha retroviruses cause tumors such as sarcomas and leukemias, such as the Rous sarcoma virus, avian leukosis virus and the avian myeloblastosis virus.
