Alphonsa of the Immaculate Conception

The Holy Alphonsa of the Immaculate Conception ( religious name, civic Anna Muttathupadathu ) ( born August 19, 1910 in Kudamaloor, Kerala, † July 28, 1946 in Bharananganam, Kerala ) was a Roman Catholic nun from India, who belonged to the Poor Clares since 1927.

She was beatified on February 8, 1986 as the first Indian woman of Pope John Paul II, on 12 October 2008, she was called by Pope Benedict XVI. canonized.
