Alphonse James Schladweiler

Alphonse James Schladweiler ( born July 18, 1902 in Milwaukee, USA; † 3 April 1996) was Bishop of New Ulm.

Life

Alphonse James Schladweiler received on 9 June 1929, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On November 28, 1957, he was named by Pope Pius XII. Bishop of New Ulm. The Archbishop of Saint Paul, William Otter Well Brady, gave him on 29 January 1958, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Bismarck, Hilary Baumann Hacker, and the Bishop of Boise City, James Joseph Byrne. The inauguration took place on 30 January 1958.

He attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council as part of a Council Father.
