Alphubel

The Alphubel, seen from Allalinhorn

The Alphubel is a four-thousand in the Valais Alps at a height of 4,206 m.

The first ascent took place on August 9, 1860 by TW Hinchliff and Leslie Stephen with the leaders of Melchior Anderegg and Peter Perren instead.

Starting point for the normal route over the east is the hotel Längflue ( 2'867 m ), accessible from Saas Fee ( 1,803 m). Another unschwieriger increase leads from Tasch ( 1,450 m) in the Matter of the Tasch Hut ( 2,701 m) and the Alphubeljoch ( 3'782 m) on the south-east ridge (often called ice spur ) to the summit.

The oldest man, who ascended the Alphubel was probably Albert SiebenMorgen, who was then 80 years old.
