Alpine skiing at the Winter Olympics

Alpine Skiing has been part of the Winter Games of 1936 by going to the program of the Olympic Winter Games. The competitions are held here for both women and men.

From 1948 to 1980 included the Olympics at the same time as the Alpine Skiing World Championships, so the Olympic champions were world champions at the same time, except in the combination. Since 1985, find the world championships in odd years instead of independently of the Olympic Winter Games. Exception was the World Cup in the Sierra Nevada, which took place only in 1996, as had previously ruled acute lack of snow a year.

With downhill, super -G, giant slalom, slalom and Alpine combined are currently five disciplines part of the Olympic program.
