Geography

Alpirsbach is in the upper Kinzig valley in the Swabian part of the Black Forest.

Boroughs

The city Alpirsbach comprises the main town Alpirsbach (including since 1938 with Alpirsbach united community Rötenbach ) and five districts Ehlenbogen, Reinerzau, Peter Zell, Reutin and Römlinsdorf to which 77 more villages, hamlets, farms, tines and houses belong.

The neighborhoods are physically identical to the previous municipalities of the same name. With the exception of the districts Alpirsbach and Rötenbach villages are set up for the purposes of Baden-Württemberg municipal code, each with its own mayor and Ortschaftsrat as its Chairman in all districts.

In the district Ehlenbogen is the deserted village Sulzberghof and Römlinsdorf district the deserted village of Heimbach.

History

Alpirsbach originated as a settlement at the same 1095 by Bishop Gebhard III. of Constance, a Zähringerplatz, consecrated monastery. With the lifting of the Benedictine Abbey due to the reformation was Alpirsbach seat of the monastery Office Alpirsbach, which led to a growth of surrounding the monastic settlement, because artisans, civil servants and guild representatives settled here.

Religion
