Alqosch or Alqusch ( Syro -Aramaic ܐ ܠ ܩ ܘ ܫ, Arabic القوش, DMG al - QUS ) is an Assyrian town in Iraq. It is located about 30 km north of Mosul in Nineveh plains of the province of the same name. The name Alqosch is Aramaic and means " The God of Righteousness ".

The story Alqoschs dates back to the ancient Assyrian Empire, possibly even further back. The first mention of Alqosch found in the time of Sennacherib about 750 BC, in the form of wall paintings in Sennacherib's palace, which was discovered in Tel Qwenjeq. About 3 km west of the town are the ruins of Shayro Meliktha.

The cliff dwellings of Alqosh are along the mountain slopes, to the top of the plateau, distributed. They are similarly decorated as the other colonies of the city of Nineveh.
