Alserio

Alserio is a municipality with 1192 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Italian province of Como in the Lombardy region. It lies about 35 km north of Milan and about 10 km southeast of Como in the northwestern part of the Lago di Brianza Alserio. The municipality is part of the Regional Park of the Lambro Valley.

Alserio adjacent to Villa Alba, Anzano del Parco, Monguzzo and Orsenigo.

History

In the Middle Ages Alserio belonged to the area that gave the Visconti of Milan in the 15th century, the Dal Verme family as a fief. Then it belonged to the families Giussani, Archinti ( 1682) and Imbonati (1689 ). The village was mentioned for the first time in 1402 under the name Conservio.

Culture and sights

  • Chiesa di San Clemente - The parish church was consecrated in 1574 and is decorated baroque.
  • Cramer Villa - Villa in the English country -house style, also known as Villa Adelaide known, was built in the 19th century by the architect Luigi Chierichetti.
