History

A first mention Old village took place in 1118. The name could be derived both from the adjective old, and from the personal name Alto. Old village in the Upper Palatinate was before 1800 Headquarters and belonged to Rentamt Amberg and the district court Nabburg of the Electorate of Bavaria.
