Altenkrempe
Altenkrempe is a municipality north of Neustadt in Holstein Ostholstein in Schleswig- Holstein. It is next to the place Altenkrempe from the places Hasselburg, Jarkau, Kassau, Klaus Horst, Muhlenkamp, Plunkau, Roger field, Sibstin, Sierhagen and Stolpe.
History
1197 Altenkrempe is first mentioned as Crempene. It was as a trading post by Duke Adolf III. founded by Holstein as a rival to Lübeck. In 1280 the site was mentioned as Antiqua Krempa and around 1316 as Oldhenkrempe. The additional name Alt was required from 1244 to distinguish it from the foundation " de Nyge Crempe, otherwise geheten Nyestad ( Neustadt ) " after the son had tried Duke Adolf, to promote by location optimization, the development of the marketplace, as the existing harbor silted had.
