Geographical location

Altenkunstadt lies at the foot of Kordigast in the Upper Franconia-West region on the left side of the Main River, about 17 kilometers east of Lichtenfels and about 50 km northeast of Bamberg. On the opposite northern side of the river from the neighboring town of Burgkunstadt. History
