Alternate bass

The alternating bass is a simple and popular bass line in many styles of music such as blues, country, pop, marching band music and many more

The principle is to play as a bass note in 4/4-time on beats 1 and 3, the root and at 2 and 4 the Quintton. So the bass goes so for example, an A major chord between "A" and "E" or "e". Not infrequently, the alternating bass is embedded in a bass line that leads, for example, before a chord change to the new key. Also possible are changing basses, where in between ( 2 or 4 ) is the third in the bass.
