The Reformed Church in Alterswilen

Alterswilen is a town in the municipality Kemmental in Thurgau ( Switzerland ) on the southern slope of the lake southwest of Lake Constance.

Local church

The former municipality is located approximately in the center of the political community Kemmental and has about 212 inhabitants. History can Alterswilen be traced back to the year 1248 ( decima in Alterswilaer ). In Alterswilen are the primary school and the Sixth Form College Alterswilen.

Elementary school community

The elementary school community Kemmental is known for her innovative school system that OSA2Plus. In this school system secondary school no longer exists. Students are divided into levels and that in G ( base ), M (medium) and H ( high ), which are customized to the students. The teaching of mathematics and German takes place at two teachers, but the levels and age groups are mixed, so the students should be educated to self. Otherwise, the students are separated in the classroom according to age and level of each other. This school system has long been tested in a class introduced in the academic year 2003/ 04.

  • Bommer Weiher: The Bommer Weiher were around the year 1460 artificially created as a water reservoir to drive mills. Over the centuries, they increasingly silted and had to be re- excavated part with excavators in 1979. The ponds are protected.
