Altissimo

Altissimo ( Italian for " very high" ) referred to in the music playing single notes, phrases or melodies in a tonal range that is higher than the regular tonal range of the instrument. Especially common is the term for woodwinds, there especially for the saxophones. Playing tones in the altissimo range requires special skills of instrumentalists.
