Alto Alentejo Subregion

Alto Alentejo is a Portuguese subregion and part of the Alentejo region, so that the sub-region represents almost the entire District of Portalegre and integrates both the District of Évora. In the north, bordering the subregion of the Pinhal Interior Sul and the Beira Interior Sul, on the east by Spain, the south of the Alentejo Central and west of the Lezíria do Tejo and the Medio Tejo. The area of ​​the subregion is: 6230 km ². The population was 127 025 inhabitants in 2001. In the subregion are 15 counties:
