Altus is a city in Jackson County ( Oklahoma) in the USA. Altus has 21 447 inhabitants (2000) and is the capital of Jackson County.

In Altus, the Altus Air Force Base, the United States Air Force is the training base for crews of the McDonnell Douglas C- 17, and Boeing KC- 135th It is also the site of the Western Oklahoma State College and Southwest Technology Center.
