Alumni association

An alumni network is an association of alumni, originally from former university students. Meanwhile, many companies have begun around the world, also to entertain alumni networks. This is partly due to the change in definition of alumni. Some educational institutions use English instead alumni association, the term Old boy network.

Today, the term refers more to the people who have spent a certain part of their lives in a company, a school or a university, and there reaches further stages of their own training. Trainees, students, current and former employees belong to the target group for alumni networks (Definition from Encyclopedia by Gert Hoepner ).

The life cycle model traditionally consists mostly of the steps " school, education, job, career in business ." This has long since changed. Recurring in-house or external training phases mean as it ever new stages of development.

The opportunities to build a viable and attractive alumni network are manifold. The first is to think about the organizational form. Thus, a separate club or a department take over the tasks. Most discussions come to the question of the assignment to a field. As a university takes over the training task, they should also take on the task binding. An annexation to the highest organizational level makes sense.
