Alun Morgan

Alun Morgan ( born 1928 in Pontypridd, Wales ) is a British jazz critics and jazz author.

Morgan began to take an interest in England as a teenager during World War II for jazz. A fundamental impression was Charlie Parker in the late 1940s. Morgan was from the early 1950s, critics at Melody Maker, Jazz Journal International, Jazz Monthly and Gramophone ( and from 1969 for 20 years with a weekly jazz column in a newspaper of Kent) liner and the author of numerous (over 2500 ) Notes ( first from mid- 1950s for Vogue Records). From 1954 he was also a regular on the radio jazz programs. He is the author of an influential book on modern jazz in England and co-author of several books on jazz records. He lectured on jazz at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and at the Royal Academy of Music in London.

He was also to 1991 full time architect.
