Alvaldi

Olvaldi (also Ölvaldi ) is a figure in Norse mythology.

He is a giant and the father of Skadi, Gangr and Idi and the grandfather of Skadi. According to the Skáldskaparmál Olvaldi had lots of gold. When he died, shared his three sons father's wealth among themselves. As a unit, they chose their own mouths. Each took a mouth full of gold, until at last the rest was divided. For this reason, the saga Expressions " The speech of Skadi, Gangr or Idi " and " Idis shiny language" as Kennings for the term " gold " apply.
