Álvaro Ramos Trigo

Álvaro Ramos Trigo ( born March 11, 1950 in Montevideo) is a Uruguayan politician and agronomist. From 1995 to 1998 he was Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay.

Life

Ramos, a member of the Partido Nacional, graduated first from 1970 to 1976 successfully studying agricultural science at the Agricultural Science Faculty of the Universidad de la República. In 1982 he acquired by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, a diploma in business management and development.

The first ministerial post he took over from 1 March 1990 to February 1, 1993, the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (Spanish Ministerio de Ganadería, Agricultura y Pesca ). Thereafter, Ramos served as Foreign Minister of Uruguay 1 March 1995 to 2 February 1998. His successor in that office was Didier Opertti. In addition, Ramos initially served in the 44th legislative period of 15 February 1995 to 2 March 1995 and again on 10 February 1997 to 14 February 2000, a mandate of senator. Later he became a Board by the consulting firm CONSUR and the Company CARBOSUR. He is also an advisor to the Instituto Interamericano de Cooperación Agrícola ( IICA ), is a lecturer at the Universidad ORT Uruguay and went several otherwise consultancy work after.
