Alvin Rabushka

Alvin Rabushka ( born May 15, 1940 in St. Louis) is an American economist and political scientist, currently doing research at the Hoover Institution. He is next to Robert E. Hall as the inventor of the flat tax.

Rabushka first studied East Asian Studies at Washington University in St. Louis. In 1962 he made ​​there his bachelor's and then went to Hong Kong to learn the Chinese language. In 1966 he received his master's degree at Washington University in 1968 and his Ph.D. in political science. From 1968 to 1976 he taught at the University of Rochester, since 1976 he has been researching at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University.

Rabushka works on taxation in the United States and the economic development of the Pacific Rim countries, Israel and countries of Central and Eastern Europe, especially Russia.
