Alvise Zorzi

Alvise Zorzi ( * 1922 in Venice) is from an old Venetian- Italian noble family. He is a historian, a television journalist and author of numerous books about his hometown of Venice.

Alvise Zorzi is one of the most important Venice specialists. He studied literature at Padua. From 1953 to 1961 he was head of the cultural programs of Italian television and later coordinator of international relations in the field of radio and television; after that, he was Vice President of the European Broadcasting Union.

667 years after the death of the Doge Marino Zorzi published a native of the same noble family television journalist Alvise Zorzi with " La Repubblica del Leone " a comprehensive tribute to his hometown. Under the title " Venice 697 - 1797 ", the book was published in 1981 in German language.
